Quality before Quantity: Relais Gourmet’s Commitment to Exceptional Foie Gras
In a world where globalization has facilitated large-scale food production, some exceptional products like foie gras can sometimes lose quality. In recent years, so-called “exotic” countries, notably in Eastern Europe, have seen a surge in foie gras production. This is often done in unhygienic conditions. This phenomenon has highlighted a major problem: production traceability. This is essential to guarantee consumer safety.
At Relais Gourmet, we choose quality over quantity. We guarantee 100% French, transparent production. Based in the Basque Country, our gourmet house is committed to offering you exceptional foie gras. It is made from ducks raised according to the rules of the art and with respect for the environment.

Raising Our Ducks: Excellence from the Southwest
Our foies gras come from the Mulard breed of duck, renowned for the finesse and tenderness of its liver. This variety of duck produces products with a refined taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture. It stays true to the traditional recipes of southwestern France. Unlike large-scale industrial production, our ducks are raised in semi-liberty. In conditions where stress is limited, we guarantee their well-being. Their feed, based exclusively on non-GMO yellow corn, contributes to the production of foie gras with a pure, natural taste.
Natural, preservative-free products
The foie gras processing at Relais Gourmet is simple and respectful. We use no colorants, preservatives or additives. To ensure optimum preservation of our terrines, we prefer gentle cooking at 72°C. This natural process preserves product quality. That’s why every product we offer is 100% natural. All without compromising on taste or health.
A Commitment to Gourmet Innovation
In addition to our range of traditional products, such as foie gras with black truffles or foie gras with Espelette chilli pepper, we are constantly creating innovative recipes. For example, we offer foie gras with Tahitian vanilla or Tuber Melanosporum black truffle. Relais Gourmet strives to satisfy every palate. We combine tradition and creativity to offer a veritable explosion of flavours.
The Relais Gourmet Quality Charter : A Total Commitment
Our commitment to quality is reflected in every stage of production. Relais Gourmet stands out for its rigorous selection of raw materials. We pay particular attention to the traceability of our products. We scrupulously comply with health and safety standards. This guarantees our customers an unrivalled gastronomic experience.
